How to Level Up and Rank Up Fast

Progression in Bloodlines is not a simple XP bar. Instead, you climb your village’s rank ladder by earning reputation and passing exams, each granting permanent stat bonuses that carry across ages. This guide shows the fastest, most reliable route from a fresh Genin to elite Anbu or Kage status.

The rank ladder

Village ranks progress as follows:

Genin → Chunin → Jonin → Anbu → Kage

Rogue players follow a parallel ladder: D-Rated → C-Rated → B-Rated → A-Rated → S-Rated → Akatsuki → Akatsuki Leader. Rogues rank up automatically at reputation thresholds without exams.

Grind reputation on the mission board

Reputation is the currency of progression, and the mission board is your engine. Available missions include:

  • [ A RANK ] Capture Manda
  • [ B RANK ] Defeat a Boss
  • [ C RANK ] Cratos, Bandit Camp, or Corrupted Point
  • [ D RANK ] Defeat a Bandit or Crate Delivery

You can run each mission once before it goes on cooldown until your next age-up, so clear them all every cycle. Missions also reward Ryo, Acumen, and Chakra Fragments, making the board your best all-round farm. Defeating players from opposing villages grants extra reputation, while dying to enemies or killing allies reduces it.

Pass the village exams

When you hit the reputation threshold for the next rank, your reputation is capped until you pass that rank’s exam:

  • Genin exam — defeat The Barbarian boss. Reward: +10 Health, +5 Chakra.
  • Chunin exam — defeat a Genin (or higher) from an opposing village. Reward: +15 Health, +10 Chakra.
  • Jonin exam — defeat a B-rated (or higher) Rogue player. Reward: +20 Health, +15 Chakra.

These stat bonuses are permanent, so passing exams is the single best way to get durably stronger. Bring a mastered jutsu or soul-bound weapon into each exam fight.

Reach Anbu and Kage

Anbu and Kage are competitive, weekly-decided ranks. Each week rankings reset and the top players by reputation earn Anbu, while the single highest earns Kage and the unique Inspire buff skill. At month’s end, everyone’s reputation resets to the Jonin threshold to keep competition fair — but your Genin/Chunin/Jonin stat bonuses stay yours forever.

Fast-track tips

  1. Log in each age-up and immediately clear all mission board quests.
  2. Focus one element tree so your damage keeps pace — see how to unlock jutsu.
  3. Keep Sin low so NPCs still interact with you — see the Life Force, Sin & aging guide.
  4. Farm bosses between missions with the boss farming guide.
  5. Pick a strong, forgiving clan from the tier list so fights go your way.

For the full faction, politics, economy, and war systems, see the village and map wiki. New players should start with the getting started guide before chasing ranks. Reputation caps are strict, so never ignore an exam prompt once it appears.

Clear every mission board quest each age-up for reputation, then pass your rank exam. Missions also give Ryo, Acumen, and fragments for well-rounded progress.

Defeat The Barbarian boss. It rewards +10 Health and +5 Chakra permanently. Bring a reliable jutsu or soul-bound weapon into the fight.
